Insulin Resistance
When your cells stop responding well to insulin, so your body makes more and more of it.
Insulin resistance is when cells become less responsive to insulin, forcing the body to produce higher levels to manage blood sugar. It sits underneath many modern health problems, including type 2 diabetes. Lowering carbohydrates is one of the most direct ways to give insulin a rest and improve sensitivity, ideally alongside your doctor.
