Insulin

The hormone that controls blood sugar and tells your body to store fat.

Insulin is released when you eat, especially carbs, to move sugar out of your blood and into your cells. It also signals your body to store fat. Eating fewer carbs on the Proper Human Diet keeps insulin lower, which makes it easier to access and burn your own fat.
